December 2023 Richmond County Exam

Thanks to the Laurel VEC for allowing The Richmond County Amateur Radio Club VE Team (RCVET) to administer no charge amateur radio exams as authorized by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and to the following volunteer examiners for giving their time Saturday morning.
The text in the () are the individuals call sign issued by the FCC.

The FCC upgraded the following applicants to General

Jeffry Isehour (KE4LCF) of Supply
William Gilmore (KQ4ICL) of Raleigh

The FCC currently grants three classes of amateur radio
licenses.

Amateur radio is open to all age groups and most disabilities.

Elmers are people that help someone get their license or upgrade. Marty elmered Bill and was able to present him his certificate after he passed the general exam.

You are not required to use a slide rule just a simple calculator with memory cleared. Smartphones are not allowed to be used as calculators.

Mineral Springs Elementary School STEM Event
