STEM Outreach Event at Cole Auditorium

We had a great out reach event for the STEM program at Cole Auditorium. Thanks to Richmond County Amateur Radio Club members Fred Lathan KG4GSA and Olivia Rinehart K8OJR for coming out on such a short notice. We also had John Sullivan join us from the astronomy group to help with the telescopes. We got to show the sun to our visitors and explained how sunspots affect us on ham radio. I think the two subjects worked nicely in the mix. We were able to use the amateur radio to talk to Spain, Canada and a New Hampshire POTA (Parks on the Air) station using a radio connected to a wire on a tree. Thanks to the STEM group at Richmond County Public Schools for inviting us.
