Well things didn’t go exactly as planned for me this morning. I had planned to activate NC K-3866 Selma Cornelison Ward State Nature Preserve. I couldn’t find it. I plugged the coordinates in and drove there but it was a country road with no sign or nothing. So plan B I headed to K-2746 Morrow Mountain State Park That woke me up as far as depending on the internet I learned my lesson. Luckily I had the park numbers on google earth and could look up my park number. I was able to work KC3CAS in K-4239 and K-1345 on 40 and 20. That was fun. Thanks for all the hunters and p2p. I started with Today I used the MFJ Short HF Mobile Ham-tenna but since the signal reports weren’t good I switched to my MFJ-1984HP, ENDFED 1/2 Wave 40-10M. I may have rushed myself to set up and the result wasn’t great signals but I did activate the park. Be sure to keep yourself hydrated and bring a lunch. De n4mqu.
