How is that the Holy Spirit is in the Old Testament?

I am surprised every time when I see the Holy Spirit in the Old Testament. Psa 51:11 Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Does that mean God has a Holy Spirit before Jesus was born? Some of these questions I do not know the answer to. But I will explore more. Isa 63:10 But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit;
therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them. Reading the whole verse I find the Headline

Create in Me a Clean Heart, O God

That is amazing. Sometimes I find reading the Old Testament tough. But it may be something as equally important to dive into as the New Testament. I felt God tell me this morning to skip the 7:00 news and continue in my word. I discovered something new.  Thanks for reading. 

Do You Treat Your Body as a Temple of the Holy Spirit?

Did you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit? Do you treat it that way? Do you follow your doctors instructions on your exercise and dietary guidelines?

for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

 

Let’s see if we can start improving our body. Start a daily exercise program.  I’ve read somewhere just 15 minutes a day would help your improve your heart muscle. Feel free to acknowledge that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit by completing the form below.

Once you accept Jesus as your savior you get a Helper The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit will teach you.  What does it teach you? Right from wrong for one thing.  You will start learning about Jesus by wanting to learn everything in the Bible. Will the helper keep you from sinning?  I am afraid not.  When we do sin we have an advocate.  

Accept Jesus Just Before You Die?

A friend asked me if you could accept Jesus just before you die and still go to heaven.  I say yes but you may not know your exact time when you die. Those people that died in the airplane crash. The jet took a nose dive down to the ground at 500 miles per hour. Did they know they were going to die? At my emergency room visit last year when I was being wheeled into the exam room to get a cat scan I thought I may die.  I knew I would go to heaven but I was worried about my family and friends.  I felt I hadn’t done enough and I did recover.  My advice to you accept Jesus as your savior and get the gifts of the Holy Spirit now.  Tell someone what you did.

The Devil is Real

Would you believe me if I said the devil is real? I was listening to a late night popular talk show and they were talking about past lives, spirits, and false mediums.  In my search the word Ghost comes up 3 times. So I guess we do have ghost but is it something we should be involved with?  In the New Testament references the disciples were in fear.  Everyone knows the Bible teaches us the spirit of fear is not of the Lord.  So that tells me ghosts is of the devil.

Why I Accepted the Fact That I am A Sinner

I had always heard we have all sinned.  I didn’t think I was a sinner until I started to learn what it says in the Bible about what sin is. I thought I was a kind person and if I could help someone I did.  One day as a young adult in the early 70’s  I was taking the bus from the library in downtown Norfolk and this elderly lately asked for change. I knew people sometimes take money and used it for alcohol.  I told her not to use it for alcohol.  She seemed very great full. In reality it was none of my business what she used the money for.  In recent times I have been studying.  I have read scripture as to what sin is and what it isn’t according to scripture.  I came to the conclusion just because you don’t murder and commit your sin involving others does not mean you are not a sinner. I sin by lusting over what others have and not being great full for what God has given me despite what decisions I had made in my life. I know I am not taking care of my body like I should. God has given me grace and allowing me to continue being on the earth doing good works using the gifts he has granted me.  I know I am a sinner but I know he has forgiven me of my sins and he will forgive you too. How do you know you are talking to God?

How does a person know if you are talking to God?  I hear people say pray about that.  What is the difference between praying about it and things working itself out?  I just got some wisdom.  When you pray about stuff like I prayed about my telescope problem. I could not focus the image. I thought my astronomy career was over. I thought I would have to pay a couple of hundred dollars for shipping in addition to the repair and I didn’t think I would be successful in the repair.  I tried searching the problem and found the same problem but that solution didn’t help. I asked a friend if it is ok to pray about mechanical stuff and he said yes it was and gave me the scripture. I will edit this when I find it.  Finally another friend I told about the problem found a company that repaired telescopes and I emailed them.  He called me very quickly and we discussed the problem and he offered to do a zoom meeting to see if he could walk me thru to repair it for a fee.  I interviewed him about his background and based on his response I agreed and we set a date.  When the call came the video came up and the guy was wearing a cross.  Now I know a cross does not have to mean you are a Christian so I asked him if a testimony came with the cross.  He said he was in the music ministry of 3 churches.  So we went thru several steps and behold I was able to focus my telescope on trees after following his instructions.  In another problem I had is trying come up with a schedule for a group I have.  If I change from the first Saturday to the second Saturday a couple of people couldn’t make it but my meeting comes the same day as another group so they could attend that meeting if I changed the week.  So I am in the process of seeing if the other place is available.  If it is not available does that mean God doesn’t want me to change or thru a little more effort I could get another place to hold my meeting?  When does circumstances change based on one owns effort versus intervention?  I think the answer is when you pray about a problem power comes from God but when you do it own your own initiative things may work out but just by your skill set you learned over the years.
