Why Did Jesus Not Commit Sin

Bible

Or maybe a better question is why do we sin?  Two things sparked my interest in my daily reading this morning Proverbs 28:13

“Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

After that I read Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.”

The reason the Proverbs verse struck me is because in my Celebrate Recover Step program I just completed we talked about confessing  our sins James 5:16.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.

So why did Jesus not sin?

I believe the answer lies in the fact in order for Jesus to be sacrificed for or sin he had to have no blemish. He was tempted multiple times but did not sin.  Since Jesus did not sin why does man sin? No one will know. Is that true?  Other people may not know.  Sin can be hidden. But is it really hidden?

This is a little gem of a park in Central Virginia off of I-64. This was my first activation of this park and was WJ3H’s first activation!  It was tough getting contacts but we eventually achieved our activation.  One tip leave your throw line attached to the antenna insulator just in case the antenna gets tangled up in the tree.  It saved the antenna. I was in my way home from Virginia and Joe WJ3H expressed an interest in learning about how POTA works.

N4MQU Antenna Install Rockingham

Amateur Radio

I am happy to report my antennas got installed Friday.  This was a great accomplishment.  I had to disconnect everything when we started preparing the house for sell in July of 2022 and I had to remove my antennas.   To see the video of the crew removing the antennas see https://youtu.be/r0jWBwJf02o. To see the new install process see https://youtu.be/uj6GF7I49TM.  The antennas seem to be in good condition after being installed 2012 so I decided not to purchase anything new.  The components consist of

K-2755 #1 William B. Umstead State Park

Amateur Radio, Portable, POTA

This activation was for the scout group OARS – Occoneechee Amateur Radio Society. The scouts wanted to learn about setting up a station they are all licensed. Chris Cancilla (W4CEC) and me (N4MQU) was able to activate NC K-2755 William B Umstead State Park. It was my first time at that park. We were doing fine until Chris’s battery died I was able to recover by switching to my battery. We had a couple of visitors. I couldn’t find my POTA flag. I hope it is stuck in the car somewhere and I didn’t leave it. Thanks for reading n4mqu

K-1291 #1 Belle Isle State Park

Portable, POTA

I activated this park using my friends (W4JE) Icom 7100 and 20 meter hamstick in his SUV.  We had his YL with him so it had to be quick. At first I didn’t think I was going to activate today because it was really windy. An opportunity came for a  road trip and Andy had his radio in the car so everything worked out.  Thanks for reading.

Activating K-8010 #17 My 100th Activation

Amateur Radio, Portable, POTA

I have said it before and I’ll say it again if you had to test for your aptitude to get your amateur radio license I wouldn’t be licensed. Realizing that yesterday was my hundred activation really pleased me.  NC K-8010;McKenny Lake State Fish Hatchery is a special place being down the street from my fathers birthplace. I appreciate the p2p and hunters. 37 phone contacts and 5 CW contacts.  My friend and fellow Rockingham resident Mark Dawkins N4MCD made a surprise visit.  I got to work many friends the funniest contact was hearing a weak signal from my friend in Virginia W4JE. He had the Icom 7610 set to 0 and I still heard him. He later rechecked in and was his normal strong signal. My friend Tripp Owens checked in from my former home park NC-K-3854 on CW.  Trip played an important role in me upgrading to General by getting my code speed up to 13 wpm back in the day.
